That's how Riku got that key. It's not normal for that, but my task was just a silly thing, so I didn't think anything of it. I'm sure a lot of people must have tried that register by now. Do you think ... it's ever given someone a task to kill?

Yeah, that was it. [that's the right phrase, and leo explains it pretty well. though he blinks a little when he explains what the task was and he frowns at the idea that people could be asked to murder via the register.]

Hyuse and I were talking about how another theory is that we all have to die in order to get out of here, but I don't know how true that might be either. The cash register always seems to know who's hitting it, and it gives out items that seem to fit people. We went with Kairi the first time to hit it together, but she was the only one who could see what the receipt actually said.

So. It could have given out a task to kill if it meant someone getting their powers back, or a promise to get out of here. Something they would really want.

I don't know. I suppose it would apply in my case [since in the moment he wanted very badly to help them] but I only hit it because Miss Nagiko mentioned it might help. I didn't have any specific intentions in mind. [...] It could be relevant to that phrase, though.

Okay. [ like she was going to disagree with sora. anyway, for that question, belatedly: ] Nott did it. Probably Jester too, but Nott for sure told me she had a task she had to do today the other day.

I'm not sure what it was, but considering everything Nott did today, it's a little hard to narrow down...

I'm not sure who else might have either, but I can ask around and see what some of the others say. So...how should we divide wishes?

We'll have to summarize what we want to know in three main points. [Hmmm. He holds up his fingers.] What happened to Riku, what's wrong with this place, and how to get home?

[Those seem pretty accurate to what they want to know, though he's open to their suggestions... he doesn't really think the machine will help much with the murders after what happened today, but it might be worth trying.]

How we can get Riku back. [ fuck what happened, a little, she doesn't think this place is good at answers anyway ] If he really might have been sent inside the arcade, then... we just need to find a way to get him out.

Right. I don't know if we really are meant to be solving what happened with how many people have died so far. We should focus on getting them back and getting out of here. Maybe a little of how we got here, too, to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Sometimes you're from a canon where dead people stay dead 9.999 times out of 10--but they're grieving, and it's been a long day, and they don't need him shoving reality in their face. Things have been cruel enough already, the least he can do is let them believe in this. So he just nods.]

[And he'll leave Riku and the mysterious history of this place to them? This will all be pointless if the cash register doesn't work like this but hey, that's why they're testing it out.]

That should work. They're just tests, anyway. And depending on what the tasks are, we might not be able to do them either. I'll ask Nott about today, and maybe we should try to find out who else has done it? We could ... ask people one on one?

Thanks, Leo. I don't think everyone would answer, especially if they were asked bad things and might have done them already... or if they just don't want to share their rewards. So we might have to keep it to just asking people we know would be okay with us asking.

I think Artemy will help us. Maybe I can ask Ann, too, if I see her. She seems like she wants to help. But Kairi's right. I think some of the receipts might even be telling people they can't share things, so we just have to know how to ask right and hope they can tell us.

It's fine. [At least it's for an intended purpose, not just, like. Awkward small talk. And he's not detached enough to hide in his book stacks at this point anyway. As long as he doesn't have to talk to Kama he'll be fine.

No comment on Hyuse because he doesn't know him, but he does nod--] That's what I was told, too. Though it was only until I completed the task and received the reward for it.
