And anyway, it isn't like he doesn't understand the urge to keep your precious people out of harm's way. Elliot doesn't know half the lengths Leo would go to in order to keep him safe, and they're practically strangers compared to the islanders.
Still, for Riku to look back, to recognizes his missteps--that's something he can respect, and he inclines his head in quiet acknowledgment.]
